Features:

Upper

● 2.2 – 2.4mm Black cow leather as 1.1 above, resistant to oil, acid, alkali and water. Leg height 345mm (minimum) measured from insole
● Leather Backstrap, reinforced and stiffened – minimum 25mm wide.
● Pull-on leather loops minimum 30mm wide, with a minimum of 70mm free loop.

Collar top band (soft leather) rolled over to secure the lining.

Counter

Thermo activated 1.8mm stiffener laminated to the upper.

Vamp

The vamp front of the firefighter boots have a seamless design with an anti-scuff toe covering. The leg section is attached using downward facing seams to aid dispersion of liquids and the whole fully blocked.

Thread

Kevlar –- Stitching throughout uses Kevlar flame resistant thread, triple stitched on main seams, double stitched on other seams.

Lining

SympaTex Waterproof / Breathable hydrophilic membrane laminated inside lining material as a full boot lining construction enclosing the entire foot. Provides protection from blood borne pathogens ISO16604:2004

Kevlar felt to provide cut resistance protection as described in 4.1

Insole

Good quality cellulose or leather board insole – 3mm thick.

Sole and Heel

Nitrile rubber direct vulcanise moulded with a minimum cleat depth of 6.5mm. Oil and heat resistant to 300ºC, with high slip resistance properties.

Steel Toecap

200 Joules. Fitted with protective rubber flange on the leading edge to protect and provide added foot comfort.

Scuff Cap

Nitrile rubber anti-scuff toe cap vulcanise moulded with sole to the leather over the steel toecap thus creating a unique integral one piece sole and scuff unit for maximum protection and durability. Oil and heat resistant to 300’C.

Penetration Resistant Midsole (P)

Stainless steel midsole complying with the requirements of EN ISO 20345:2011.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Impact Resistance

When the firefighter boot is subjected to the 200 Joules impact test as specified in EN ISO 20344:2011, the minimum clearance inside the steel cap area shall not be less than the appropriate value given in Table 4 of EN ISO 20344:2011. (14mm for size 8).

Penetration Resistant Midsole (P)

When footwear is tested in accordance with the method described in Clause 5.6 of EN ISO 20344:2011, the force required to penetrate the sole unit shall be not less than 1100 N.

Crush Resistance

When the footwear is tested in accordance with EN ISO 20344:2011, the minimum clearance inside the steel cap area shall not be less than the appropriate value given in Table 4 of EN ISO 20344:2011. (14mm for size 8 when subjected to 15,000 N.)

Slip Resistance (SRC)

The footwear meets the highest slip resistance requirements for EN ISO 20345:2011, when tested on ceramic tile surface using a detergent solution and steel surface using glycerol.

Insulation Against Heat (HI)

The footwear meets the insulation against heat requirements as specified in Clause 6.3.1 of EN 15090:2012, whereby the temperature increase on the upper surface of the insole shall not be greater than 22ºC.

Insulation Against Cold (CI)

The footwear meets the insulation against cold requirements as specified in Clause 6.2.3.2 of EN ISO20345:2011, whereby the temperature decrease on the upper surface of the insole shall not be more than 10ºC.

Ankle Protection (AN)

The footwear complies with the requirements of clause 6.2.7 of EN ISO20345:2011 for Ankle Protection.

Energy absorption of the seat (heel) region (E)

The footwear complies with the requirements of clause 6.2.4 of EN ISO20345 for the energy absorption of the seat region

Antistatic outsoles (A)

The footwear meets the requirements of EN ISO 20344:2011 whereby the electrical resistance shall be greater than 100 K and less than or equal to 1000 M

ADDITIONAL PROPERTIES:

Cut resistance (CR)

The footwear meets the cut resistance requirement for EN ISO20345:2011. A 1.5mm thickness of Kevlar felt provides protection for an area which extends for at least 30mm above the feather edge (welt) of the sole of the footwear and from the steel toecap to the heel in a continuous length with no gaps.

Extra Comfort / Protection

To provide additional comfort and protection, the instep and shin areas of the foot are cushioned by the use of latex rubber, open cell foam.

Reflective material

For added visibility there is the addition of a reflective side strip and beading on the back strap, using a 3M flame resistant fabric.
