Alcohol Resistant Aqueous Film Forming Foams (AR-AFFF)
Alcohol Resistant Aqueous Film Forming foams, AR-AFFF, are especially effective for extinguishing and securing flammable hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires. High risk facilities such as refineries, pharmaceutical plants, process areas often require AR AFFF foams.
Alcohol Resistant Aqueous Film Forming Foams (AR-AFFF) can be applied also with non-aspirating devices (water spray nozzles and standard sprinklers). This foam is perfect for tough applications where conventional foams fail; it can be used fighting fires or covering spillages of chemicals to avoid the emission of toxic, harmful, flammable, etc., vapors, even acids. The foam has a very good resistance to all kind of chemicals. All of Perimeter Solutions range of AR-AFFF are manufactured using C6 fluorocompounds.

POLYFOAM® 1/3 UL is an AFFF-AR compound for extinction of hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires. This concentrate has a pseudoplastic behavior. It contains fluorinated and hydrocarbon surfactants to allow a good formation of an aqueous film on the surface of most hydrocarbon fuels and polar solvents, suppressing vapor leaks and preventing its contact with the oxygen and providing an excelling sealing on hot surfaces.
CERTIFICATIONS: UL-162, EN-1568-3:2008 (class 1A) and EN-1568-4:2008 (class 1B); fulfills LASTFIRE protocol for extinction of hydrocarbons in tanks, with the qualification of GOOD in the 3 tests: semi-aspirated, aspirated and system (Fresh and Sea Water) at 1% and 3%.
